Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly is the man who the Gunners want to come in to help address their defensive troubles, according to reports.
The Italian side has put a £53 million price tag on the powerful central defender and the Senegalese international is wanted by the Premier League giants Arsenal.
Antonio Conte wanted to land him for Chelsea last campaign but a deal wasn’t agreed, and now Arsenal will look to bring him in as club’s management look to improve the defence and prepare for life after French manager Arsene Wenger.
This campaign, Arsenal conceded 51 EPL goals, which is the most the Gunners have conceded since the 1983-84 campaign. With Per Mertesacker set to retire at the en of the season and Laurent Koscielny out for a significant period with an Achilles damage, Arsenal need to land at least one top quality central defender this summer.
Kalidou has been linked with a summer move to Serie A giants Juventus and his agent, Bruno Satin strongly believes Koulibaly is good enough to play at the top level.
“Kalidou at Juve? He’s at a level where he could play anywhere.”
