Arsenal news round-up: club dealt blow, €30m bid for talent, club on alert

Arsenal dealt huge blow in their pursuit of Bundesliga key man

Amid speculations he may be the man to substitute Arsene Wenger, Hoffenheim have announced that manager Julian Nagelsmann will not be departing from the club this summer.

According to a group of sports TV channels Sky Sports News, Alexander Rosen, The German club’s director of football, has said that Julian will “100 percent” be at the club next campaign.

The 30-year-old manager has been at the club since 2016 and in that time, Julian has managed to become one of the best coaches in Germany. As such, he has become an in-demand man around Europe’s elite leagues.

Nagelsmann managed to steer Die Kraichgauer into the third position in the Bundesliga, which means that the German side will be playing in the Champions League next campaign.

Julian was supposedly on Arsenal’s wishlist of potential new coaches but it becomes visible he won’t be going anywhere this summer, leaving Spaniard Mikel Arteta as the front-runner to take over at Arsenal.

In spite of Arteta is in pole position to replace Arsene Wenger at the Gunners, the north London side’s management yet to start official negotiations with Mikel and Manchester City.

Arsenal launched €30m bid for Serie A giants sensation

Arsenal have reportedly submitted a bid to sign highly-rated Turkish talent Cengiz Under from the Italian giants AS Roma this summer transfer market.

According to states from Italian news outlet Tuttomercatoweb, the Gunners want to add Cengiz to their squad ahead of next campaign and will do battle with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for the winger.

Under has enjoyed a stunning first season at Giallorossi and established himself as a key player for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side.

It’s reported that the Serie A club has set a valuation for Cengiz worth €50 million, which is surely a steep price tag for possible suitors to meet if interested clubs intend to make moves this summer.

The Gunners are understood by Tuttomercatoweb to be currently falling short of this valuation from Giallorossi. It’s stated that they have plotted a bid worth €30 million for Cengiz, whilst AS Monaco have gone one better with a bid priced at €35 million.

AS Roma will be keen to keep hold of Cengiz this summer but if these fresh states are to be believed, it will not be without warding off the interest of some other elite European clubs.
