Chelsea opened negotiations with Nice over £31.5m-rated star

Chelsea FC have begun negotiations with French sides Nice to sign box-to-box midfielder Jean Michael Seri in the summer window.

According to French nationwide daily newspaper L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, Chelsea FC are keen to add Jean Michael Seri to their squad this summer.

The report states that Chelsea FC have made initial contact about a move for Seri as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of next season.

Seri has an agreement with Les Aiglons that should allow him to depart from the club for €40m in the summer transfer window, a fee which The Blues can easily match.

Another Premier League giants Manchester City are also understood to be keen on Seri, meaning that Chelsea FC are not going to be unopposed in their tries to sign him.

The 26-year-old has been a star for the French side in midfield over the past few campaigns and has attracted the interest of a host of top clubs.

Spanish sides Barcelona have been formerly touted with a move for the defensive midfielder, though that becomes visible to have died down.
