Chelsea reportedly ready to sell out-of-favour star in summer

The Premier League club Chelsea are reportedly keen on cutting their losses and selling England international Danny Drinkwater, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Blues are prepared to get rid of the star only a year after signing the midfielder from EPL rivals Leicester City for over £30 million. The central midfielder has struggled to get playing time at Stamford Bridge, only making five Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

The versatile midfielder has seen his England World Cup chances totally go, with Drinkwater not even a backup option for Gareth Southgate’s side in Russia.

The 28-year-old star could raise some cash for the Blues to buy other transfer targets, including OGC Nice key man Jean Michael Seri, with the Blues planning to replace Danny with the OGC Nice star.

Englishman will move on without winning anything with Chelsea, after winning the Premier League trophy with Leicester City in 2016. Danny moved to Chelsea previous summer for over £30 million but failed to make an impact in the senior team.

This season, in all competitions (Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, EFL Cup), Danny Drinkwater has made 22 appearances and netted 1 goal.
