Everton are assured of securing a deal to land Jack Wilshere in the summer transfer window after his contract negotiations at Arsenal have stalled, football.london reports.
Wilshere’s current contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the campaign with the England prodigy yet to agree on new terms with the management.
Having been at The Gunners since he was a boy, it has always been believed that Arsenal and Jack would agree on new terms, but with still no agreement between the two sides having been reached Wilshere could be set to depart from the Emirates at the end of his current contract.
It’s reported that Englishman would have to take a £20,000-per-week basic pay cut to remain at The Gunners and that he is unhappy with this, mainly considering Mesut Ozil has just been given a whopping new £350,000-per-week deal.
Arsene Wenger spoke previous month of his wish for Wilshere to remain at the club:
“I can only reassure him that I want him to stay and we have made him a proposal and after that we also have to accept that Jack is at an age where he will have offers from somewhere else. Personally, I have put my weight in for him to stay, I push him to stay and I think he’s an Arsenal man”
