Liverpool joined by European giants in race for £22.5m-rated star

Serie A giants Inter Milan have joined Liverpool in their pursuit for AS Roma central midfielder Kevin Strootman, according to Italian football transfers tabloid CalcioMercato.

The Dutch midfielder has become a vital part of the Italian side’s midfield and played as Giallorossi shocked the world by knocking Spanish sides Barcelona out of the Champions League on Wednesday on away goals, with not on time fightback sending the Italian club into the last four with Liverpool.

After all, CalcioMercato say that reports in Italian media are linking the central midfielder with Inter Milan, with Luciano Spalletti seeing the midfielder as a great variant for his midfield.

Strootman had formerly been linked with a move to Anfield with Liverpool, meaning that the Reds could face rivalry if they want to land the Dutchman upcoming summer transfer window.

Kevin has appeared 27 times for AS Roma so far current season. The midfielder renewed his deal at the Stadio Olimpico previous Summer and his current contract at AS Roma ends in the summer of 2022.
