The Premier League giants Liverpool are on the verge of signing Steven Gerrard’s cousin Bobby Duncan from another EPL giants Manchester City in a deal that will be done in summer, according to a report.
English tabloid newspaper The Sun claim the Merseyside giants are set to complete the signing of the England Under-17 international, who is a striker and considered to be one of the most highly-rated talents of his age in the country.
It is understood that Huyton-born Bobby has been entangled in an extended deal dispute with Manchester City all season and has not featured for their academy team for months.
The Sun report that the 16-year-old has decided to remain fit and ready for action by training with League One Wigan Athletic ahead of his anticipated switch to Liverpool.
Bobby Duncan will turn 17 in June and is then expected to straight away sign for Liverpool, where he will link up with his cousin Steven Gerrard, who is the club’s Under-18s coach.
This season, in all competitions (U18 PL – Final Stage, U18 Premier League) promising talent has made 5 appearances so far.
