Manchester United have lost derby with the Citizens and one of the main reasons of the failures was the clubs record signing Paul Pogba who was playing like a kid, according to the Liverpool legend.
Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho started that the match with a midfield duo of Belgian star Marouane Fellaini and record signing Pogba but was forced to add Spanish star Ander Herrera at half-time due to United being constantly overrun.
‘What Jose Mourinho wasn’t helped by was the performances of his players, he made two changes at half-time, but specifically, the performance of Paul Pogba,’ the former Liverpool defender said on Monday Night Football.
‘I think for a central midfield player in a game of that magnitude, it was one of the most ill-disciplined performances you’ll see in the first 40 minutes.
‘The only way to describe it was like a kid in a school yard, the best player in the school yard who does what he wants, goes where he wants.
‘It’s either he’s got it wrong, or Jose Mourinho has got it wrong.
‘He [Mourinho] could’ve took Paul Pogba off [at half-time], the way he performance in the first half.
‘I can’t think he said to Pogba, go on to flick-ons from Zlatan ten minutes into the game.’
