Arsenal’s management believe they hold a major advantage in the hunt to sign Paris Saint-Germain contract rebel Adrien Rabiot.
The France international has turned down several contracts offers from the Ligue 1 champions and is intent on leaving on a free transfer in the summer transfer market.
Barcelona were the favourites to land the 23-year-old star but a move to Camp Nou now looks unlikely given the Catalan heavyweights invested £65 million on Ajax ace Frenkie de Jong in January.
Tottenham and Liverpool are also interested in signing Rabiot, but Arsenal, according to the Mirror, feel Spanish manager Unai Emery’s personal relationship with the star could help convince him that his future lies in the red half of north London.
The Gunners were restricted to making loan signings in the January transfer window and failed in a late attempt to sign Adrien’s teammate Christopher Nkunku last month.
Arsenal are, however, expected to have a substantial budget to work with come the summer window and could offer Rabiot lucrative terms, particularly if they are able to find a buyer for Germany international Mesut Ozil.
