The London giants are reportedly one of the primary transfer suitors for Sassuolo star Manuel Locatelli this summer. The 23-year-old midfielder has been in fine form at Euro 2020 so far, with Man United supporters recently expressing their desire to see him move to Old Trafford.
It looks, however, that the strongest interest from the PL right now is from the Gunners. It may be that Juventus are currently leading the chase for Manuel’s signature, however, though Gunners and Borussia Dortmund seemingly stay in the hunt.
Arsenal could certainly do with a signing of that calibre to help take them up a level next campaign after a hugely disappointing 2020/21 season that saw them miss out on European football. Italy international won’t come cheap, however, with Fabrizio Romano recently claiming he has a €40m asking price.
Manuel seems an ideal fit for the Gunners in an area of weakness in their squad, with Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard both leaving after their loan deals from Real Madrid came to an end. If the Gunners could replace them with a talent like Manuel, they could be in decent shape going into next campaign.
