Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are reportedly both in the running to secure services of AC Milan versatile midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.
The 27-year-old midfielder who is capable to play as a wright winger is out of current deal at San Siro in the summer and it is looking increasingly unlikely that he will agree new terms with the Serie A giants.
According to Sky Sport Italia, AC Milan offered a take-it-or-leave-it €4m-a-year (£3.5m) deal to Calhanoglu, however, he is after a €5m (£4.2m) contract.
That has paved the way for other teams to step forward with offers, with the same report claiming that Arsenal and Chelsea are among those to have opened talks with the player’s entourage.
It is reported that the English giants can offer the Turkey international big wages, however, they are unable to compete with the sums AC Milan’s rivals Juventus are prepared to pay, making them the frountrunners to land his signature.
Calhanoglu has provided eight assists and found back of the net twice in 24 Serie A games this season and could be a perfect addition to either Chelsea or Arsenal due to his versatility.
