Arsenal are still keen to land Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez, but the Catalan giants seem unwilling to sell, according to British tabloid newspaper the Daily Mirror.
Unai Emery is chasing a reunion with the Denis, who he worked with at Spanish club Sevilla, but the 25-year-old star is proving hard to get.
It is understood that the north London giants are willing to pay in the region of £20m for Suarez’s services, but the La Liga leaders don’t want to lose their midfielder just yet.
The Gunners have also reportedly suggested a loan switch which would see the Spaniard join permanently in the summer transfer market.
The midfielder is a top target for the North London side, who are planning to bolster their defence and solidify their midfield.
An alternative variant for Arsenal is Sevilla’s 30-yard-old all-around midfielder Ever Banega, but the Argentine is being eyed as Aaron Ramsey’s replacement.
Suarez has played in Premier League in the past, spending time at another Premier League giants Manchester City in his earlier days, before heading out to his native Spain and joining Barcelona.
