Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been credited with an interest in landing 22-year-old midfielder, Nadiem Amiri, from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
According to a report from German tabloid newspaper Sport Bild, as quoted on Sport Witness, both London clubs are interested in the all-around midfielder.
Amiri has been connected with moves away from the German side some time and it now appears that sides are once again taking notice.
Fellow Bundesliga club Schalke are also said to be keen on landing the player, but Hoffenheim’s management may well prefer to sell to a foreign club.
The report states that the player has a release (buy-out) clause of around €17 million and that could be activated in the summer transfer window.
Amiri only recently signed a contract extension at Die Kraichgauer until June of 2020 but it is still believed the star could be on the move.
The youngster is predominantly a playmaker but can play in a deeper role or out wide. Amiri has been capped for Germany at youth level but is yet to make a single match for the senior squad.
