Arsenal talent Gabriel Martinelli won’t be leaving the Gunners in the January transfer window.
The Brazilian star started his side’s first two games of the campaign in the absence of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but has managed just 11 minutes of playing time since then.
The 20-year-old attacker has subsequently been linked with a January transfer away from the Emirates with a host of clubs across Europe understood to be interested in the player’s services.
Reports have also stated his former side Corinthians are keen on bringing him back to South America. His father Joao Martinelli however says Arsenal will not allow Gabriel to leave mid-season.
‘Since he came back from an injury, he’s been playing a lot less than he would have liked. There has been some talk of proposals from Europe, but Arsenal have already warned that they will not release him,’ Joao told Yahoo.
‘People like him a lot. Not only for what he does when he plays, but also for his dedication. Martinelli is almost always the first to arrive for training and the last to leave.’
He enjoyed a superb first campaign in England, netting 10 goals but saw it end with a long-term knee injury in the summer of 2020.
While there have been other injuries since his return Martinelli has been available for selection throughout the 2021-22 term.
