Arsenal have been received a boost in their chase for Stevenage FC central defender Ben Wilmot as it is understood that Watford have pulled out of the hunt to sign him, according to sports TV channel Sky Sports News.
Wilmot has been superb for Stevenage in League Two current season, as the 18-year-old looks to confirm himself as a Football League, and possibly a Premier League, player.
At the begin of the calendar year, the England U19’s centre-back made 12 consecutive matches for the Boro and made himself one of the first names on the club sheet.
Stevenage FC are currently mid-table in League Two, but it seems like next season, Ben may be quite a bit higher than that.
It seems like he will not be at The Hornets as it has been reported that Watford have had a bid of £500,000 rejected by Stevenage FC who now value promising talent at over £1m.
Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion are said to be interested in the centre-back, as well as a host of Championship clubs, meaning Stevenage FC will struggle to keep hold of Ben Wilmot for the 2018/19 season.
