Arsenal in pole position to sign €20m-rated Serie A right-back

Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Torino right-back Wilfried Singo. Despite being only 21 years old, Ivory Coast international is currently playing a crucial role in the Torino squad. Singo managed 35 league appearances last campaign and 28 the season before.

Last year, Wilfried managed to earn himself a call-up to the Ivory Coast squad for the first time and has since played two games for his country. Tottenham, Arsenal and Barcelona are interested in signing Singo. The 21-year-old right-back has regularly played in a wing-back role, meaning his attacking ability would suit both Tottenham and Arsenal.

Spurs play with a wing-back system, and Antonio Conte has had issues in this position. The Gunners are currently utilising Ben White at right-back and with Gabriel showing signs of inconsistency in the centre of defence, we could see a new right-back brought in and White moved centrally.

Barcelona are also interested, but after recently signing Bellerin, it doesn’t make too much sense to be prioritising another defender at this time, so Arsenal and Tottenham could swoop in. The Ivorian defender is just 21 years old, and he’s touted for a bright future.

Though it’s worth mentioning he’s mostly played as a right-wing-back this campaign, not in a back four. It wouldn’t be the first time that both Arsenal and Tottenham were linked with a right-back. That’s exactly what happened with Emerson Royal and Takehiro Tomiyasu last summer.
