Arsenal are allegedly in the race for River Plate star Enzo Fernandez.
He’s currently making a name for himself in Latin America, with Fichajes stating that the Gunners, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Aston Villa and Real Madrid are all interested in the Argentine midfielder.
He has made 28 appearances for Los Millonarios despite being 21-year-old and has clearly impressed around the continent.
They recently sold Julian Alvarez to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City but were allowed to retain the forward on loan for the rest of the season.
This could be a sweetener in any potential deal from the likes of Mikel Arteta’s side, who could allow Enzo to stay at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti for a season if they were to land.
This would benefit all sides, with the South American outfit able to keep a key man for an extra year, as well as receiving a sum for him.
Whoever signs him, can allow the player to develop somewhere he’s already getting playing time. He is able to play senior team football and gain the further necessary experience, before moving to Europe.
Mikel has shown this campaign how he is ready to give youth a chance, and Fernandez would surely be a welcome addition to his roster.
