Arsenal keep a close eye on Orlando winger Facundo Torres. Uruguay international was on the London giants’ radar in winter. The Spanish manager preferred more Premier League-experienced options to strengthen his squad. The Uruguayan winger was one of the brightest Orlando City footballers when they hosted the Gunners for pre-season.
Arsenal came out victorious, but the 22-year-old forward got on the scoresheet, equalising for his side. Little did the Uruguayan think the Gunners would one day come enquiring about his availability, which has been the case for a few months now.
The Gunners have been in the market for a forward and were widely expected to sign one in January. After the fruitless chase of Mudryk, they switched their attention to Trossard. The Spanish coach may have even have looked at the South American attacker for the right side but is happy to wait.
The right-wing position is a bit tricky for Mikel Arteta to fill up. Facundo Torres also recently signed a new deal with Orlando City until 2027. The deal includes a release clause worth $30m, which is reasonable for a club like the Gunners or any other PL side.
