Arsenal keep a close eye on €25m-rated La Liga playmaker

The London giants are reportedly working on a €40m transfer bid for Real Betis attacker Nabil Fekir, who is also wanted by their PL rivals. France international looks to be considering his future with Real Betis, according to the latest transfer news from Spain, and it could be that English football will be his next destination.

Nabil was close to joining Liverpool during his time at former club Lyon, and it looks the Merseyside club, along with fellow Merseysiders Everton, retain an interest in signing Fekir. The Gunners, however, are now stepping up their interest, with reports claiming Arsenal could try their luck with a €40m bid for the Frenchman this winter.

The Spanish manager will surely be keen to bolster his front-line after a slow start to the campaign, with Nabil perhaps a necessary upgrade on struggling performers like Nicolas Pepe. The French attacker can operate in a variety of attacking positions, either as a false-9, winger, or more of a central playmaker.

The Gunners are arguably a little weak in all of those areas, so Nabil could be the perfect fit to come in and offer something different. It will be interesting to see, however, if Mikel Arteta can persuade the Frenchman to join them over a club like Liverpool right now, given Arsenal’s poor state.
