Arsenal are in the race to sign Chelsea target Jean-Michael Seri from French side Nice this summer after it appeared their head of football relations was still in contact with his agents, according to Get French Football News, who quote L’Equipe.
The north London club will be looking to strengthen as club’s management try to get back into the top four of the EPL and they won’t be frightened to spend to do it.
Arsenal made public Raul Sanllehi as club’s new head of football relations in November and Raul officially joined the team in February.
Previously Sanllehi was at Spanish giants Barcelona, who came close to landing Seri from Nice previous summer, only for it to fall through at the last minute.
It has now revealed that Raul has kept in contact with the Ivorian’s agents and Arsenal are emerging as one of the main teams looking to buy him.
The 26-year-old midfielder has made over 100 appearances for the French club since joining them back in 2015, but his time there seems to be coming to an end with a host of clubs interested.
Raul’s links could give the Gunners the advantage to land Seri, but they will still have to beat the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City to his signature.
