Arsenal not planning to sell highly-rated English midfielder

Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka has already been approached by a host of clubs, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The 20-year-old Englishman was a shining light in the Gunners’ 2020-21 campaign, banking five goals and four assists before being selected for his country’s Euro 2020 squad.

Bukayo suffered penalty heartache in the final versus champions Italy, but the versatile attacker’s showings have reportedly not gone unnoticed from somewhere else.

Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio said: “Some clubs are starting to approach Bukayo Saka, Arsenal consider him untouchable. They are planning to build on players like Saka also for the next years.”

He penned a new long-term contract with Arsenal in the summer of 2020 and remains contracted to the Gunners until the end of the 2023-24 term.

The Hale End academy product has already played 93 games for Mikel Arteta’s side across all competitions, netting 12 goals and setting up 21 more as well as lifting the FA Cup trophy.

Elsewhere, former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has said that he’ll make contact with the Gunners after manager Mikel Arteta said the ‘doors are always open’ to the midfielder.

“I really enjoyed playing with him (Arteta), sharing a dressing room with him. To hear him come out and say the door is always open is nice,” he told Sky Sports News.

“I think that it can only help me. As you said, being around good players, training with world-class players and, as well, just being in a team environment is something that I am interested in. I am sure that I will have a conversation with someone at the club over the next couple of days.”
