Arsenal could face heavy competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City to sign Villarreal Spanish attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals, TEAMtalks reveals exclusively.

The Villarreal key man, who has just turned 23, is reportedly available for around €25m due to a buy-out clause – and that represents something of a bargain for a star who is appearing as one of the best young midfielders in Europe.

Pablo, who already has 2 full caps to his name, caught the Gunners’ eye 18 months ago and the club considered a swoop in January – whilst Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and Serie A duo Inter Milan and Napoli have also shown interest in him.

Indeed, an Italian sports newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport reported earlier in February that Fornals is Partenopei’s first choice to fill the void left by Slovak star Marik Hamsik, who left the Naples for the Chinese Super League.

However, TEAMtalk understands Fornals is yet to agree to a move to Serie A and knows he could enlarge his earnings by moving to the English top flight.

But the Gunners now also have company from the Citizens and Spurs – whose delations have issued glowing reports on the star – and could now also be prepared to launch summer charm offensives to land a player, with his release fee proving tempting for all three English sides.

Arsenal see Pablo as the ideal replacement for Juventus-bound Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey, while the club have also been connected with two of Ligue 1’s exciting young attacking talents, according to the latest reports.
