Arsenal on loan defender unsure about his future with Premier League giants

Marseille loanee William Saliba has claimed that he is solely focused on trying to deliver Champions League football for French giants, rather than thinking about future at the Emirates Stadium.

After being sent out on loan by Arsenal last summer, Saliba has enjoyed the best campaign of his career, which has been capped individually by claiming the Ligue 1 Young Player Of The Year award.

With two years left on his current deal with the Gunners, it remains unclear whether the 6 ft 3 defender will represent the North London outfit next campaign or be sold for a profit.

However, the 21-year-old has indicated that he is only trying to ensure that his current team Marseille claim a top-three position.

Speaking at Sunday’s award ceremony, Saliba said: “It’s an honour, a source of pride. I dedicate this trophy to my teammates, my club and the supporters.

“Did I play my last match with OM? I don’t know. The future will tell us. The most important thing is to confirm this good season by qualifying for the Champions League. Afterwards, we’ll see.”

French giants, will guarantee third spot if they avoid loss against Strasbourg at the weekend.
