Arsenal and Leeds United target Julian Draxler has an offer on his table to renew his Paris Saint-Germain contract by one more season this summer.
Draxler’s future at the club has been subject to speculation over the last 18 months and the French side were willing to sell him in recent markets, with the Whites claimed to have come close to landing him last year.
But the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino has changed the dynamic somewhat and the Argentine appreciates the quality the playmaker brings to his Paris Saint-Germain squad.
Now the Parisians are looking at keeping hold of the Gunners midfield target and avoiding losing him on a free transfer this summer.
And according to French newspaper L’Equipe, the club have indeed offered the player a one-year contract extension to remain at the Parc des Princes.
They do not want to lose Draxler in the summer and go into the market for a replacement because of the current financial climate.
Paris Saint-Germain also feel holding on to the Germany international would allow them to divert funds towards other departments of the squad.
Mikel Arteta’s side and their league rivals are believed to be keen on snapping him up on a free transfer, but thus far the player has not made a decision.
Julian is considering his options but is acutely aware no club would offer him the level of wages he is on at Paris Saint-Germain at the moment.
