Arsenal started negotiations with No.11 La Liga centre-forward

Arsenal are interested in Raul de Tomas as their search for a new centre-forward continues. The Espanyol centre-forward has a release clause worth €70m, which the Catalan club will demand, although suitors value the striker much less.

Last campaign, Spain international was one of La Liga’s prolific centre-forwards, netting 17 goals in Espanyol’s return to the top flight. Moreover, his contribution helped them finish comfortably in mid-table, thus preserving their status in the premier tier.

His displays have attracted interest from top teams in Europe, which could allow him to take his career to the next level. The report suggests Arsenal and Atletico are looking at the centre-forward as a potential new arrival this summer, while Real Madrid were also briefly interested a while ago.

Atletico are looking at various options to replace Suarez and may consider an approach for de Tomas. As for the Gunners’ interest, the Spanish manager has been extensively searching for a new frontman to bolster his squad. The Gunners are the front-runners to add Gabriel Jesus, and a new offer looks imminent.

The Brazilian centre-forward is on the list of many other big teams, but Arsenal have stolen the march over their rivals in the chase for the Man City striker. And now, the Gunners are mentioned as possible suitors for the Spanish striker. The report claims that suitors, including Arsenal, are keeping tabs on his situation after a terrific 2021/22 campaign.
