Chelsea defensive midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to join Italian side AC Milan on a season-long loan, according to Simon Johnson of the free daily newspaper London Evening Standard.
With Mateo Kovacic arrival at Stamford Bridge on a loan from La Liga giants Real Madrid, Bakayoko has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Blues, who will let him move to Rossoneri on a temporary basis.
With Mateo to feature alongside Italo-Brazilian star Jorginho and France international N’Golo Kante in Blues’ midfield, there is no real chance of Tiemoue Bakayoko getting regular playing time.
Bakayoko arrived at West London the previous summer but failed to make an impression in his debut season at the club, despite arriving with a huge reputation after his £40 million move from AS Monaco.
It seems like there’ll be a fair amount of change at Maurizio Sarri’s side this summer with Courtois already sold to Real Madrid and Danny Drinkwater also expected to depart as Italian manager looks to build a team capable of competing at the top end of the Premier League table once more.
