Chelsea agreed personal terms with 15-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder

Chelsea are on the verge of signing Independiente del Valle midfielder Kendry Paez. U17 Ecuador international was on the radar of quite a few big teams from around Europe. But as per the reports, the London giants have won the battle for Paez.

The Blues have agreed on a deal of nearly £20m for Kendry. However, the fee could rise depending on his display until he turns 18. The London giants might have agreed on a deal for the 15-year-old midfielder but he cannot join them until turns 18 in May 2025 due to FIFA rules.


The Ecuadorian midfielder’s move to Chelsea is subject to him getting a work permit. The Ecuadorian was recently promoted to Independiente del Valle’s first team. The South American midfielder became the youngest-ever footballer in the Ecuadorian Serie A when he made his senior team debut for the club.

Paez marked his debut with a goal. Meanwhile, the Blues have spent a fortune on acquiring young talented players from across the globe. Their new co-owner Todd Boehly wants to build a team for the future. And, as a result, he is trying to add teenagers who have high potential.
