The London giants have reportedly been on the phone to ask about a possible transfer deal for Inter Milan full-back Achraf Hakimi. This comes as negotiations between the Nerazzurri and PSG over Morocco international have hit an impasse.
The report states that the Blues are now interested, though they’ve not yet made a concrete approach for Hakimi, who is valued at between €70-75m.
Achraf has shone for the Nerazzurri and also previously caught the eye at Borussia Dortmund, with the full-back certainly up there with the finest full-backs in the game right now.
The Moroccan defender contributed a hugely impressive seven goals and eight assists in Serie A last campaign, showing what an effective attacking player he can be as a full-back or a wing-back.
That could make Achraf perfect for Thomas Tuchel’s system at the London club, which relies on the use of wing-backs, though the Blues already have Reece James in that position.
It could be that James would move into a more central role if Achraf joined, with this move undoubtedly giving Chelsea a few more options in their starting XI next campaign if it comes off.
