Chelsea have signed wonderkid Thierno Ballo from German team Viktoria Koln, as per the reports.
Ballo, who also performs for Austria’s under-17s, had a test at Chelsea earlier this term and made an impact with five goals versus West Ham.
And the 16-year-old seems to have done sufficient to persuade Chelsea to purchase him.
Koln manager Franz Josef Wernze said: “It’s real and we’re very pleased with him.”
As per German outlet Express, Ballo is assumed in London on January 10 to complete the transfer.
Ballo is thought one of the greatest talents in Austrian football, scoring over 200 goals in two seasons at his first team SC Chemie Linz.
For Koln’s U-17 side, Ballo has netted seven goals in 25 league games.
Ballo will join Chelsea’s much-heralded academy, which has got the FA Youth Cup for the past four seasons.
This term, Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has tried to give chances to his young players and he’s been cleared with the likes of 17-year-old Ethan Ampadu exciting.
Conte said: “Before taking a choice for the starting XI, if a player performs or not, the last part of the body that I look is the head.
“You don’t play because I understand that you are this footballer, you are a huge name. I like to make the best judgment from what I see through training assemblies and matches.
“You (the media) ask me ‘Why don’t Chelsea play junior players?’ I put a young player (in) now.”
