The 21-year-old defender has impressed for the West London giants during the 2020-21 season, playing 47 games in all competitions, scoring one goal and adding five assists in the process.
James was selected in the England team for Euro 2020, meanwhile, and played the full 90 minutes of the goalless draw with Scotland on June 18.
According to The Athletic, the Citizens, head-coach, Pep Guardiola is a ‘huge fan’ of the defender and wants to bring him to Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The Englishman has played 84 games for the West London club in all competitions, founding back of the net three times and contributing eight assists in the process.
Man City also continue to be rumoured with moves for Aston Villa’s playmaker Jack Grealish and Tottenham Hotspur’s centre-forward Harry Kane, who, like Reece James, are currently representing the Three Lions at the European Championship.
