Chelsea determined to agree deal for South American No.10 forward

Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are all reportedly keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with Barcelona during last summer’s transfer window, however, ultimately stayed with Inter and has enjoyed another strong season.

The Argentina international has managed to found back of the net 18 times and provided nine assists in 46 games in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s team, who recently clinched the Serie A tittle.

Martinez has still not signed a new contract at San Siro, though, and his future is again being called into question as he will be a free agent in 2022.

According to 90min, Liverpool and Chelsea have both asked to be kept informed of any developments surrounding the South American’s future, while the Citizens also in the mix.

The report suggests that Inter’s financial problems could mean that the team are prepared to listen to offers for the forward during this summer’s transfer window.

Chelsea and Man City allegedly believe that Argentine forward would be a more affordable option than the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Braut Haaland.

Barcelona also believed to be interested to lure Lautaro Martinez at Nou Camp to keep Lionel Messi at the club.
