Chelsea enter the battle to sign 21-year-old Bundesliga midfielder

Chelsea keep a close eye on Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone. The 21-year-old midfielder wants to follow in the footsteps of his idol Drogba. The London giants might show an interest in recruiting the French midfielder, but he stays contracted to the German club until 2025.

The Frenchman continues establishing himself as one of the top midfielders in the Bundesliga. His importance for the Bundesliga giants have come to the fore, with the French-born player one of the first names on the teamsheet each week this campaign.

Like many other footballers in European football and possibly at Borussia Monchengladbach, Manu also holds ambitions to play for a top side that challenges for honours. Kone would like a move to Chelsea or Real Madrid. Manu reportedly has a soft spot for Chelsea as he looks to emulate his idol and Chelsea legend Drogba.

Whether the Blues are considering a move for the midfielder remains the question. Todd Boehly certainly will re-enter the market for a new midfielder despite spending a British record sum to sign Enzo Fernandez in winter.
