European giants Chelsea and Juventus are both in negotiations with La Liga side Atletico Madrid to sign central defender Stefan Savic, Sky Sports Italia reports.
Montenegro international made 36 matches for the club last campaign and was an unused substitute in Atletico Madrid’s Europa League final victory over Marseille.
Chelsea are searching for defensive reinforcements in this transfer market after a poor campaign saw them finish just fifth in the Premier League and eventually miss out on a Champions League place.
In spite of manager Antonio Conte still expected to face the dismissal from Stamford Bridge this summer, the Blues are still interested in pressing ahead in the transfer market.
However, the Old Lady are set to rival Chelsea for the 27-year-old star’s signature after losing Switzerland international Stefan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer to the Gunners earlier in the transfer window.
Stefan Savic joined Atletico Madrid back in 2015 from the SerieA side Fiorentina for an undisclosed fee, thought to be €25 million.
Savic has formerly played in the Premier League with Manchester City after spending the 2011/12 campaign with the Sky Blues.
