Chelsea in the battle to sign 16-year-old Brazilian centre-forward

Chelsea and Man United are keen on signing Endrick from Palmeiras once he turns 18. U17 Brazil international is also a target for several other European clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Brazilian centre-forward has the world at his feet at the tender age of 16, with some of Europe’s most high-profile teams scrambling to secure his services when he becomes eligible to move to the continent. The 16-year-old centre-forward came into the spotlight after his blistering displays at the Copinha.

The Brazilian has also represented his nation at different age-group levels, making an impression on the gamut of scouts present to watch him. The South American striker has invariably captured the attention of several European clubs, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man United among the centre-forward’s prospective suitors.

Chelsea and Man United have not been as active in the South American markets as Real Madrid and Barcelona. But the two English clubs boast a reputation of having two of the best academies in Europe, with both teams producing several legendary footballers over the years.

And Endrick is the latest prospect who could join Chelsea or Man United in the coming years. None of the Brazilian’s suitors will be able to sign Endrick before he turns 18. But they can start negotiating a deal once he is 16 this month, with Palmeiras likely to demand around €40m for him.
