Chelsea are in the battle with Tottenham to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson after his fantastic breakthrough campaign. Ireland international has three goals and two assists in the PL this campaign from only 7 matches. At 18 years old, Evan is already making an impact at an elite level and is the latest fantastic pickup from the Seagulls.
The 18-year-old striker signed for the Seagulls from Bohemians in Ireland in 2021 and recently signed a new deal, valid until 2026. Now, the Irish centre-forward is being targeted by Chelsea and Tottenham after his excellent campaign with the Seagulls.
Tottenham consider Evan a long-term replacement for Kane, and the Blues have been looking to target young, up-and-coming footballers from around the world since Todd Boehly bought Chelsea. Evan is already a senior Republic of Ireland international and undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of striker.
In his handful of games for the Seagulls, Evan has looked a real handful for defenders and is a well-rounded centre-forward. The Irishman is extremely well-built for his age but also has the technical ability and pace to go with it. With the right coaching and development, there’s no doubt Ferguson could become a top PL centre-forward.
