Chelsea join race to sign €50m-rated Brazilian attacker

Chelsea could be a potential suitor for Gabriel Jesus, as the interest in the centre-forward continues to expand among London giants. Arsenal are the reported front runners for the 25-year-old striker, while Tottenham’s name has also been mentioned, with Man City demanding £50m to sell the centre-forward.

Jesus is steadily becoming one of the most talked-about footballers in the London club circles. The Blues are the latest team to show an interest in Gabriel, as he looks certain to depart Man City this summer. Arsenal and Tottenham have already been mentioned in the last weeks, and things could get tense.

Man City have signed Julian Alvarez and completed the mega transfer of Erling Haaland to kick-start their transfer business early. The arrival of the Norwegian striker, in particular, will likely limit Brazil international’s playing time next campaign, and with the 2022 FIFA World Cup approaching, the centre-forward needs to play regularly.

Game time could be the main factor for the Brazilian centre-forward zeroing in on his new club, although Arsenal were considered front-runners at one stage. Arsenal stay in the battle for the South American striker, but they now face competition from Tottenham and Chelsea.

The Blues have reportedly entered the chase, with the German coach considering changing his attacking options. The Blues are supposedly willing to let Lukaku, Werner, and Ziyech leave in the summer transfer window and may look at a new striker to fill the void left by the Belgian centre-forward.
