Chelsea are planning summer move for Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino if Italian manager Antonio Conte departs from the club this summer.
According to a group of sports TV channels Sky Sports, Conte is expected to leave the London side after Saturday’s FA Cup final versus Manchester United.
The Blues have been linked with substitutions such as Maurizio Sarri, but Pochettino is another leading candidate.
The Argentine manager has been in charge at Spurs since 2014 and has guided his team to consecutive top-three finishes and Champions League qualification for three campaigns in a row.
Conte looks set to depart just a year after winning the Premier League trophy in his first campaign in English football as the Blues failed to qualify for next term’s Champions League after the club finished five points behind fourth places Liverpool.
Chelsea finished the fifth current season and if Mauricio was to make the move to Stamford Bridge, he would be missing out on Champions League football next campaign.
Meantime, Tottenham Hotspur are moving into their new stadium for the 2018-19 season and appear to have confirmed themselves as Champions League regulars.
Chelsea are reportedly set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Ligue 1 side OGC Nice defensive midfielder Jean Michael Seri.
According to states from the Daily Mirror, the Blues are leading the hunt to sign the midfielder, who is the main target for the Gunners ahead of the summer transfer market.
Seri has been an exceptionally good performer for OGC Nice over the course of the last two campaigns and has been continuously connected with a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal are stated to have opened negotiations with the Ivory Coast international’s agents as they accelerate their pursuit of the midfielder ahead of the summer.
Although, their efforts might be to of no avail, with the Blues claimed by the Daily Mirror to be at the front of the queue in the hunt to sign Jean Michael Seri.
If either team is to land the midfielder upcoming summer, though, they will need to cough up a sizeable sum. It’s reported that OGC Nice value Jean Michael at a massive fee of £40 million and are keen to keep his services for the foreseeable future.
Chelsea have suffered a disappointing season after missing out on Champions League football but have given encouragement on the summer transfer market to make a swoop for a prime-target.
The Italian outlet Mediaset Premium cites AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli as admitting that 19-year-old Italian wonderkid Gianluigi Donnarumma could be sold upcoming summer if the fair offer is made.
“He is part of the club’s heritage and we wouldn’t let go of him easily unless of course, someone values him the way he must be valued. If a good enough offer arrived, any of our players could be sold.” – said Massimiliano Mirabelli.
Gianluigi only signed a new deal at the San Siro previous summer, after a long saga and talks, but continues to drawn interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs and Chelsea could have the chance to make a summer move.
Real Madrid’s strong interest in Thibaut Courtois could spark a move from the Blues, who would have a remarkable amount of cash to splash on a replacement for the shot-stopper if the Belgium international is tempted to the Champions League finalists.
