West Ham United have reportedly agreed a deal with Chelsea for 19-year-old playmaker Pierre Ekwah, who found back of the net in a trial game for the Hammers.
The teenager’s current deal at Stamford Bridge expires on July 1 and he is believed to move across London on a free transfer, after arriving at the West London club for £1.8m from Nantes in 2018.
Last summer Ekwah made a move up the youth ranks and into the Blues Under-23 side, going on to score one goal in seven Premier League 2 games during his debut campaign at that level.
The Daily Mail claims that Ekwah will be announced as the HAmmers player this week when this summer’s transfer window officially opens on Wednesday.
The youngster was involved in an Under-23 game for the Hammers against the Gunners youth side last month, and Ekwah managed to get onto the end of Andriy Yarmolenko’s cross to score late in that game.
Ekwah is predominantly a defensive midfielder who can also play at the centre-back position.
Chelsea another promising midfielder Billy Gilmour is keen on leaving the club on loan in order to gain regular first-team football somewhere else.
