The Premier League giants Chelsea’s managerial limbo is closing in on its completion with Maurizio Sarri set to be announced as the new coach within 48 hours.
Reports from the Italian national sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport state that the announcement is close after negotiations continued between both sides on Monday.
Some reports have stated that Roman Abramovich personally phoned Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis on Monday in a bid to speed up the process.
The Blues had been hoping to have former Napoli boss in place prior to Monday’s first training session, but his compatriot Antonio Conte led the way.
Conte remains in charge at the west London club, but it is believed that everything is in place for the Italian tactician to leave and make way for Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues have been working on a compensation deal for Antonio and the members of his coaching staff with the current boss having one year remaining on his deal.
It has also been stated that Maurizio Sarri’s arrival will see the club kick-start their summer transfer business.
