€60,000-a-week French star snubs EPL giants interest in favour of Liverpool move

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a big blow after they were rebuffed by Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with the Frenchman preferring a transfer to Liverpool.

The Parisians midfielder has been banished to the reserve team after refusing to pen a new contract, with his current contract expiring in six months, though a long-mooted move to La Liga giants Barcelona appears to have stalled after Blaugrana signed Frenkie de Jong.

Paris Saint-Germain would prefer to sell Rabiot now, rather than lose the star for nothing, and, according to L’Equipe, Spurs made a late approach.

The north Londoners were ready to offer Rabiot a lucrative deal and signing-on fee, while Pochettino spoke to the 24-year-old star in the week and guaranteed him a starting role.

Adrien’s former teammates, Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura, also attempted to convince him, but his agent have now officially declined a move.

Rabiot sees Tottenham Hotspur as a step down from Paris Saint-Germain, while Paris United also report that the star has always seen himself joining the Reds if he ever moved to the Premier League.
