€60,000-a-week Liverpool target told to join UCL giants after collapsed negotiations

Paris Saint-Germain’s hierarchy reportedly told midfielder and Liverpool target Adrien Rabiot to go and sign for La Liga giants Barcelona after they became frustrated with the star during contract negotiations.

According to French news outlet Paris United, there was tension between the Parisians’ sporting director Antero Henrique and Rabiot’s camp during negotiations in the summer.

It’s said that after growing irritated at the lack of progress made over an extension, Antero told Rabiot’s agents he should move to Barcelona if he could agree on a deal.

The Blaugrana have long been connected with the versatile midfielder, whose terms at the Parc des Princes run out at the end of this season and it seems Ligue 1 leaders will part ways with their academy product.

France international is rated as one of the most talented attacking midfielders in Ligue 1 and has blossomed into a key man for Paris Saint-Germain after moving to the club’s academy in 2010.

However, with little progress made between the club and player regarding an extension and angst reported, Frenchman’s stint in the French capital may be close to an end.
