Unai Emery has stated that Arsenal have not launched an offer for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
Having fallen out of the regular starting eleven at the Santiago Bernabeu since the arrival of Belgian star Thibaut Courtois, Navas has made just eight matches for Los Blancos this season.
The Spanish manager admitted that he isn’t fully in the loop with transfers, however, and is cited by sports television channel Sky Sports as saying:
“I don’t know. We never speak about one goalkeeper because I think – and it’s true – we are very happy with the three goalkeepers we have now. We’ve never spoken about Keylor Navas.”
When questioned if the claims had any substance, the former Paris Saint-Germain boss succinctly said: “Not true.”
Germany international Bernd Leno made the move to the English top flight from Bayer Leverkusen only in the summer window but has looked shaky in his first campaign in English football.
Veteran Petr Cech didn’t look much better at the start of the campaign either, but it seems Emery is ready to commit to a future with Bernd Leno in between the sticks.
