Premier League giants Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the hunt to sign Sampdoria versatile defender Joachim Andersen.
According to an Italian daily newspaper La Repubblica, as quoted on Calciomercato, the Red Devils scouts have been keeping a close eye on the star recently.
The report states that Jose Mourinho has been convinced about the possibility of landing the player, with interest beginning to rise.
Arsenal, Inter Milan and Juventus have all been heavily connected with Andresen in the latest weeks.
The Danish star is catching the eye in the Italian top tier and looks certain to start a bidding war for his services either in January window or in the next summer market.
Mourinho has been interested in adding another central defender to his ranks for some time having missed out on top targets during the previous window.
Any potential deal to land the Sampdoria star is set to cost around €30m, but with the rising interest, the club’s asking price is likely to rise.
This season, in all competitions, former Twente man has made 12 appearances and created one assist.
