Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to spend as much as £40m for the services of Tammy Abraham in the summer, as the forward prepares to depart from Chelsea in search of regular first-team football.
The 23-year-old has managed to found back of the net 12 times in 32 games for the West London club during the 2020-21 season, however, struggled for action in the latter stages of the campaign.
Abraham has allegedly been told that he is free to leave the club during this summer’s transfer window, and London rivals West Ham United have been heavily linked with the England international.
However, according to The Mirror, Dean Smith’s side are currently in the driving seat, with Aston Villa preparing a big-money switch for the striker.
The report suggests that Villa are prepared to make a £40m offer for Tammy Abraham, who enjoyed a fine loan spell at Villa Park during the 2018-19 season, founding back of the net 25 times in the Championship earning a promotion to the Premier League.
The Englishman has found back of the net 30 times and provided 12 assists in 82 games for Chelsea and still has two years left before his contract expires with Thomas Tuchel’s side.
