The Premier League rivals West Ham United have eyed a summer move for Chelsea FC central midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to the British daily broadsheet newspaper The Telegraph.
Danny has struggled for game time since moving to Chelsea FC for £35 million in the Summer transfer window.
Now The Telegraph report that West Ham United are interested in a deal for the defensive midfielder, who looks set to leave Chelsea FC after only one campaign.
A big stumbling barrier in any potential deal could be Chelsea’s valuation. After all, the club are keen to recoup a large amount of money for the midfielder and could put a price tag of over £30 million, something that could put off any potential prospective buyers.
Danny formed a successful partnership with N’Golo Kante at Leicester, helping the Foxes to the 2016 Premier League trophy. After all, he and Kante have only started in partnership six times at Chelsea FC.
AS Monaco are also interested in landing another of Chelsea’s midfield purchases from last Summer, Tiemoue Bakayoko, however, Danny is more likely to depart from Stamford Bridge than the French defensive midfielder.
