Former UCL giants manager emerged as surprise transfer target for Arsenal

One-time Barcelona manager Luis Enrique looks set to come back to coaching this summer with the latest reports connecting him as a possible successor to French manager Arsene Wenger.

With former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel looking set to take over at French giants Paris Saint Germain in the summer, the Gunners will have to look for a second variant if they are to replace Arsene in the summer, with reports now claiming that they could go in for Enrique.

Following a year out of the game, Luis has already admitted to having rejected offers to return to management.

Paris Saint-Germain were also said to be interested in luring Spaniard to the club as a substitution for Unai Emery who is set to depart from the Ligue 1 giants in the summer.

With French giants now seeming to have settled on appointing Thomas, Arsenal are favourites to land Luis with Wenger’s future at the club up in the air.

One-time Barcelona Director Raül Sanllehí, now the Head of Football Relations at The Gunners, could be a key part in Arsenal’s interest in Enrique.
