Liverpool playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum has labeled talks that he has already agreed a switch to La Liga giants, Barcelona this summer only “rumours”.
The Dutch international deal with the defending Premier League champions is set to expire next season, and the rumours linking him with a departure from Anfield continues to gather pace.
A recent report suggested that 29-year-old midfielder has had agreed personal terms with Barcelona, who could sign him for £13m this summer’s transfer window following to his contract situation.
However, when asked about his future and a possible transfer to Barcelona, the Reds midfielder told reporters: “They are only rumours. At the moment I can’t say anything.”
The Netherlands international, who has found back of the net six times in 47 games for the Merseyside Reds during the 2019-20 campaign, is allegedly viewed by new head-coach of Barcelona, Ronald Koeman as a vital part of the club’s rebuild.
Koeman has been huge fan of former Newcastle United man as he has been one of the key players for Netherlands national team while he was in charge.
Lionel Messi, meanwhile, has made final decision about his future and will remain at Nou Camp for another year before his contract expires.
