Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and league rival Tottenham Hotspur ’s hopes of signing Croatian central midfielder Marcelo Brozovic look to have been ended after he agreed a fresh contract with Inter Milan, according to an Italian sport newspaper Tuttosport.
The 25-year-old star was linked with a move to England in the summer transfer window with both the Reds and Spurs reportedly keeping a close eye on him last season.
And after making an impression for Croatia at the World Cup in the summer, speculation regarding his future at the San Siro ramped up even further.
However, Inter Milan’s management were able to resist all offers and now the Italian club have reached an agreement with the representatives over a new contract for their star midfielder.
Croatia international star has signed a fresh contract worth £2.8 million per season and will remain at Giuseppe Meazza until 2021.
The versatile midfielder has made nine appearances in all competitions (Serie A, Champions League) thus far this season, notching his first goal of the season last month against Serie A outfit Sampdoria, but yet to provide a single assist.
