Italian club in talks to sign Liverpool out-of-favour attacker

Serie A side Fiorentina are keen on luring Liverpool star Divock Origi in the upcoming transfer market, amidst the Belgian centre-forward also drawing attention from Wolves.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has used Divock as a bit part player in the current campaign and the star has only played seven minutes of Premier League football the far this season.

Origi has started three matches for the Reds in the UEFA Champions League but is finding minutes hard to come by and his situation at Liverpool has attracted attention from league rivals and from abroad.

The Reds’ top flight rivals Wolves are keeping a close eye on Origi as a replacement for sidelined hitman Raul Jimenez.

And according to Italian publication La Repubblica, the former Lille man has also popped up on Fiorentina manager Cesare Prandelli’s radar.

La Viola are interested in adding more firepower to their forward line when the January market swings open and Divock is being eyed as a potential candidate.

The Belgian star failed to clock up any minutes for the second time in a row in the division when Liverpool routed Crystal Palace 7-0 at the weekend.

It remains to be seen whether Divock still has any part in the German tactician’s plans for the Reds’ future, with his current contract at the Merseyside club only running out in the summer of 2024.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan are considering whether to make an official approach for Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum, according to a recent report from Italian media outlet Tuttomercatoweb.
