England international has been a key figure for the Blues since returning from a loan spell with Derby County. Mason took little time to establish a foothold at the London club in the 2019/20 campaign. And Mount has been a regular for Chelsea through a couple of managerial changes.
At the same time, the English playmaker has risen in stature on the international stage. But the Englishman has endured a difficult 2022/23 campaign thus far, with his form nosediving. Mason has just three goals and six assists in 32 games across all tournaments.
Los Blancos will lay down the succession plan for Kroos and Modric in the coming weeks and months. With the ageing midfielders approaching the end of their respective careers, Real Madrid need to identify their successors. And Bellingham has emerged as a top target for Los Blancos.
